The Mobile World Conference is just around the corner and is slated to start from 22nd of February and continue till the 25th. This means that all the tech mammoths like Samsung and LG etc. are gearing up to unveil their latest and greatest to the world in Barcelona. What’s more interesting is that Samsung has sent out the invites for its Galaxy S7 event which is the flagship model from this company. Samsung is holding an entire event for the unveiling of its new model a day before Mobile World Conference actually starts but this is exactly how it has happened in the previous few years.
There is a lot of excitement about this particular model – it is one of the bestsellers of the company – and people just want to get their hands of the best that Samsung has to offer. It is also a chance for Samsung to show their technological prowess when it comes to mobile phones. As Samsung Galaxy S7 will go toe to toe with LG G5 and whatever model Apple has in store for this year, so there is a lot that Samsung has to do right to make sure that the customers are eager to get themselves a Galaxy S7.
When is the unveiling happening?
Samsung has planned the Galaxy S7 for almost three from now for 21st of February – a day before the Mobile World Conference officially starts. The event will be similar to the Unpacking event of Galaxy S6, the predecessor of the new flagship. Samsung will discuss, in detail, the features that make the S7 stand out from the competition along with pricing and availability for different and different locations all around the world.
What the Galaxy S7 has to live up to?
Galaxy S6 and S6 edge were the flagship models of last year from Samsung and they were quite impressive. Both these sets had an octa core CPU (Exynos 7420) which enabled excellent responsiveness and excellent performance without the slightest trace of lagging. Along with that incredible CPU was 3 GB of RAM for all one’s multitasking need. Both Galaxy S6 and S6 edge had a 16 MegaPixel shooter which was capable of taking some really beautiful photos no matter the lighting conditions. The best thing about these sets was perhaps their display – a 5.1 inch screen adorned the front of the phones with a whooping 1440×2560 resolution which resulted in an approximated 577 ppi pixel density. This resolution and pixel density is among the highest that is available in the top end mobile phones of today.
All the above goodness was packed in a sleek design and a metal unibody which was praised by the reviewers and the customers alike. The design of these handsets alone set them apart from all the previous models in the Galaxy line.
What will Samsung Galaxy S7 be like?
With Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Samsung was able to revive a faltering handset line so it is safe to assume that the company won’t be tinkering too much with that formula. In fact, the rumor mill suggests that the S7 will be quite close to S6 when it comes to features like body design and screen size and resolution (The 5.1 inch screen size is quite right if not perfect and 1440×2560 is nothing to sneeze at).
The Galaxy S7 will feature an updated processor and is said to have 4 GB of RAM. The camera module is slated to stay 16 MegaPixel but Samsung may work to increase the low light and overall performance of the camera.
Samsung Galaxy S7 is said to have a fingerprint sensor and will come with and expandable card slot. The battery size remains a mystery however. The other things on the list are USB Type-C port and greatly improved audio performance. Samsung Galaxy S7 will run Android Marshmallow out of the box with Samsung’s customizations.
